</div>A nail art design with horses was what Floooor suggested when I <a href="http://lindasnailart.blogspot.com/2011/05/challenge-me.html">asked</a> you for your nail art ideas. She was the first commenter and I promised to do whatever the first one said, so... this is what I came up with.<br />
<br />
A horse was all I used to draw when I was younger so that's no problem for me. Painting a horse on a nail is a different story though! It really was a challenge, cause I barely ever paint such detailed stuff on my nails. The horses I used to draw were most of the times rearing and I thought that would fit nicely on my nail too. The entire animal wouldn't have fit, and if I did only the head I would have to add too much details. A silhouette is relatively simple ;) I used acrylic paint, nail art pens and average nail polish for this. Thank you Floooor for the idea, I hope you like it!Lindahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02961742245037850175noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-884191958616157644.post-60515466483255888632011-05-28T00:12:00.000+02:002011-05-28T00:12:37.294+02:00Three tone leopard<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhPvxM818bBwf3iccAc6Y-CxPVoLcL_Ct32SmiRS9YEOk8vsy54tzXv744GXhWX1dmKBOmqJkninCL61-7plKXke1Gg9rPalQ1Cx7t_GK2pqocs6i6mYyLMkl5063AoUmgnth3wexUQs8Uq/s1600/Panter.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhPvxM818bBwf3iccAc6Y-CxPVoLcL_Ct32SmiRS9YEOk8vsy54tzXv744GXhWX1dmKBOmqJkninCL61-7plKXke1Gg9rPalQ1Cx7t_GK2pqocs6i6mYyLMkl5063AoUmgnth3wexUQs8Uq/s400/Panter.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br />
As promised, a combination of my previous two posts (<a href="http://lindasnailart.blogspot.com/2011/05/two-toned.html">Two-toned</a> and <a href="http://lindasnailart.blogspot.com/2011/05/leopard.html">Leopard</a>)! It's my try on <a href="http://nailartexpress.wordpress.com/2011/05/12/blueprints/">Ying's manicure</a> she did earlier this month. The blue, pink and purple creme polishes are base colours from the Essence nail art twins, called Bonnie, Mr. Big and Thelma. I wanted them to step out of the shadows of their glitter counterparts Clyde, Carrie and Louise for a day. They deserve it, don't you think?Lindahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02961742245037850175noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-884191958616157644.post-10032945811352397592011-05-25T23:30:00.000+02:002011-05-25T23:30:17.807+02:00Leopard<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJfccJCM78xbUHo-va853WeqMSjwnxJsHErza3Af9gnK8-iHxR-nZHINnwFLvmWI94K6UBmgWv4xWbxFcoOkwtbW3uIUf7NIfSYUUSK3W2Uz46Sp_HVfcTnMuN7xPa9QrCWbbzFqgIo7SK/s1600/Leopard.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJfccJCM78xbUHo-va853WeqMSjwnxJsHErza3Af9gnK8-iHxR-nZHINnwFLvmWI94K6UBmgWv4xWbxFcoOkwtbW3uIUf7NIfSYUUSK3W2Uz46Sp_HVfcTnMuN7xPa9QrCWbbzFqgIo7SK/s400/Leopard.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br />
I'm still amid some pretty important exams so I'm not 'wasting' my time doing nail art at the moment. This simple leopard I did a while ago for my cousin who was going to a jungle-themed party. I'm planning on a combination of this design and the <a href="http://lindasnailart.blogspot.com/2011/05/two-toned.html">previous one</a> I posted, inspired by <a href="http://nailartexpress.wordpress.com/2011/05/12/blueprints/">this</a>. To be expected this weekend, when I'm having a bit time off after all the hard work :)Lindahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02961742245037850175noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-884191958616157644.post-75542204745777239822011-05-17T21:59:00.001+02:002011-05-17T21:59:46.703+02:00Two-toned<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVjVBzVWFL9PNXfSatWDWT8m4vF3RUPcZ61ZA62Prcj3MN9HXrEA6b545zmQSnaJxidMbMyZjxokaOmjoxc7f32on4NIcgli9U5fhYL1n05xOj1a9azUnIO1uOcF-97qP3zTjZKF4vQGZG/s1600/Rood-roze.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVjVBzVWFL9PNXfSatWDWT8m4vF3RUPcZ61ZA62Prcj3MN9HXrEA6b545zmQSnaJxidMbMyZjxokaOmjoxc7f32on4NIcgli9U5fhYL1n05xOj1a9azUnIO1uOcF-97qP3zTjZKF4vQGZG/s400/Rood-roze.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">One of the most simple nail art designs: just two colours with a contrasting stripe in between. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhd5_yjDJPGDOgCpN_5DI3YhKLGFMLJuBCxFkfBAuQxha9XikVmJyc6-d8m2436udGefJ7hvMg3aUjW5NP1wkrBBhbWXqxCkYgNpaFusqu4UvlOwGvwFef49VMx_691I6btjSQAS77a17j3/s1600/Twotoned-blue.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhd5_yjDJPGDOgCpN_5DI3YhKLGFMLJuBCxFkfBAuQxha9XikVmJyc6-d8m2436udGefJ7hvMg3aUjW5NP1wkrBBhbWXqxCkYgNpaFusqu4UvlOwGvwFef49VMx_691I6btjSQAS77a17j3/s400/Twotoned-blue.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">The only special thing you need is a striper. I didn't use tape, with the stripe in between the two colours you can camouflage mistakes!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">For this design I've been inspired by <a href="http://nailside.blogspot.com/">Nailside</a>. This is a blog from a Dutch girl I recently discovered, with beautiful pictures of her nail art. She made a <a href="http://nailside.blogspot.com/2011/04/tutorial-mummy-tape-mani.html">tutorial</a> for a tape manicure which she calls the mummy tape mani. She is great in tape manicures and posted a lot of them on her <a href="http://nailside.blogspot.com/">blog</a>! I added flakies on top of it, and, another thing she often does: mattified it. You can't see it clearly on the picture, but it gives the flakies a really cool effect!</div>Lindahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02961742245037850175noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-884191958616157644.post-36837991081840379152011-04-30T20:56:00.000+02:002011-04-30T20:56:11.090+02:00Simple roses<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjpqhgCgJ64CRjclEKra3qYvLzlhJI4ce2WbGuXJNSyX-Fvy9ewyXKbTnrlOpEwcfIoOnIAcADzLMfRlzoP1qkr4q5ejn7doSpnZYs0SZT0xZmA4HpYvTDLkICcU8VCZtNC07eSrO20uh6o/s1600/Roosjes-bij-Laura.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjpqhgCgJ64CRjclEKra3qYvLzlhJI4ce2WbGuXJNSyX-Fvy9ewyXKbTnrlOpEwcfIoOnIAcADzLMfRlzoP1qkr4q5ejn7doSpnZYs0SZT0xZmA4HpYvTDLkICcU8VCZtNC07eSrO20uh6o/s400/Roosjes-bij-Laura.jpg" width="300" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

</div>I wanted to make something pink since I got a new girl cousin two days ago! :) I picked some things from the <a href="http://lindasnailart.blogspot.com/2011/04/i-received-another-package.html">prize pack</a> I got from Ying from Nail Art Express: the light pink nail polish from Wet 'n Wild and the crushed seashells. Ying sent me crushed shells in the <a href="http://lindasnailart.blogspot.com/2011/02/i-received-package.html">previous package</a> too, but I hadn't used them yet. I just didn't really know what to do with it! Some searching on Google got me to <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=90vweMVsAR0">this</a> YouTube tutorial (you can skip the first 2.5 minutes), which I tried to replicate. It was hard to make a clear picture, next time I'll use more contrasting colours!<br />
<br />
Do you have any other ideas for nail art using these crushed shells?Lindahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02961742245037850175noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-884191958616157644.post-8462407717344678962011-04-15T22:17:00.000+02:002011-04-15T22:17:27.675+02:00I received another package...I'm sorry for not posting a new nail art design for two weeks! My friend's nails! Saturday we will be doing a photoshoot together, and one of our looks will be the Blues Brothers! When we were in primary school, we did a performance twice as the Blues Brothers. She's Jake (the short one) and I'm Elwood (the tall one) ;) Here's our favourite song:<br />

The beautiful - but horrible to apply - blue is What's With The Cattitude from OPI. I used it <a href="http://lindasnailart.blogspot.com/2010/12/quidditch_06.html">before</a> for the sky, it's just the perfect colour for that! The real colour lies actually just in between the two pictures. For the grass I first made my tips green and then painted some blades of grass with a striper. The daisies are made with a dotting tool.Lindahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02961742245037850175noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-884191958616157644.post-45377017867153021782011-03-23T20:10:00.000+01:002011-03-31T16:22:25.556+02:00NotepadsHow could I let the first day of spring pass without an appropriate manicure? My excuse: exams. These days I'm spending more time learning in the library than in lying my own bed. But I promise: next week, a spring design! For now, here's a nail art design I made a while ago.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjX-d8RoziX7yZfQF-CtXjkknGIdnPty6CBWosyJ2CZnc7Sxtr11MEL1Dc4VlPrFoyh9ErwpA7nYWc8n0GFA7YX0AcqBPnZepoHOhLOGQVrsK2o2W_jA8BNg2Zks2ch3Y1SifGRLDHSsP9X/s1600/Notitieblokjes.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjX-d8RoziX7yZfQF-CtXjkknGIdnPty6CBWosyJ2CZnc7Sxtr11MEL1Dc4VlPrFoyh9ErwpA7nYWc8n0GFA7YX0AcqBPnZepoHOhLOGQVrsK2o2W_jA8BNg2Zks2ch3Y1SifGRLDHSsP9X/s400/Notitieblokjes.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">You might have seen it before on my <a href="http://lindasnailart.tumblr.com/">Tumblr</a>. According to the number of notes (777 at the moment!), this is the most popular picture I posted there. It was originally inspired by <a href="http://fuckyeahnailart.tumblr.com/post/855232211">this</a>. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I have a washable nail art pen (from Essence), which I used to write things on my nails I had to remember! 'Call mum' etc. Very handy and it looked pretty cool! I also really liked these tiny doodles:</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />

Well... Not really: as I <a href="http://lindasnailart.blogspot.com/2011/03/st-patricks-day.html">said</a>, St. Patrick's Day isn't even celebrated in the Netherlands. So, don't ask me why I made <i>another</i> St. Patty's manicure. These are my younger sisters nails and she has to explain to everyone why she's wearing three leaf clovers on her nails, 'cause nobody here knows the celebration.<br />
<br />
And for the title... I just thought it would be a good name for this manicure, since I made the shamrocks out of... hearts! When searching for St. Patrick's Day nail art (again, don't ask me why I did that) I found <a href="http://nailarttues.blogspot.com/2010/03/camoflauged-shamrocks.html">this</a> design with clovers made out of little hearts! Perfect!<br />
<div><br />
</div><div>So, unless you're already wearing a green manicure or don't have heart shaped rhinestones, make this! It really ain't getting easier!</div><div><br />
</div><div>Happy St. Patrick's Day to everyone who WILL be celebrating it tomorrow! Have fun! :)</div>Lindahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02961742245037850175noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-884191958616157644.post-28601220995678426522011-03-12T17:48:00.002+01:002011-03-13T16:10:05.197+01:00St. Patrick's Day<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGAnMDwkGeiXytdE4PfPzucjmz38ggaHnYsBXSuVk3ycntYEYuvnRI-x3mX8Qnc-AXbQ392CgU5E0aZjHlD6G2gMtZypLNXkpC_s6m8suz-INShhmIxEFfRdQJz1rfdaaUQ8O1G6GAlcnT/s1600/Klavertjes.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGAnMDwkGeiXytdE4PfPzucjmz38ggaHnYsBXSuVk3ycntYEYuvnRI-x3mX8Qnc-AXbQ392CgU5E0aZjHlD6G2gMtZypLNXkpC_s6m8suz-INShhmIxEFfRdQJz1rfdaaUQ8O1G6GAlcnT/s400/Klavertjes.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div>This thursday, March 17, is St. Patrick's Day! We don't celebrate it at all in Holland, so don't ask me why I've had this nail art design in mind for a while. It was a good opportunity for using my <a href="http://lindasnailart.blogspot.com/2011/02/i-received-package.html">new</a>, bigger dotting tool and trying <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ay99VIxzwmo">this</a> technique for making flowers. However, I ended up filling the middle of the four leaf clovers with a lighter shade of green so there's nothing left of that technique ;)Lindahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02961742245037850175noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-884191958616157644.post-1540856825546980542011-03-09T22:48:00.001+01:002011-03-09T23:04:30.181+01:00Pearly bow<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjfUx7nefgz0raTn7icw0gEi8uZYEcdofFTq3Tr2lqGjHskGmWxQAFIkk58a_eenMfO63lkU5Q8rUVi7KV5-JBD92p4bDhQpGn9NZOIH9qi7nZ78Avgp4C36ySZ8Bsz7q6KYzkrgc8NRalR/s1600/Lindahierisiefoto.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjfUx7nefgz0raTn7icw0gEi8uZYEcdofFTq3Tr2lqGjHskGmWxQAFIkk58a_eenMfO63lkU5Q8rUVi7KV5-JBD92p4bDhQpGn9NZOIH9qi7nZ78Avgp4C36ySZ8Bsz7q6KYzkrgc8NRalR/s400/Lindahierisiefoto.jpg" width="300" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">This week's nail art design is simple. Modest, yet stylish. I used the rhinestones from my <a href="http://lindasnailart.blogspot.com/2011/02/i-received-package.html">prize</a> (again) to make a bow on my ring finger. A thick layer of top coat makes this one last for at least one week!</div>Lindahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02961742245037850175noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-884191958616157644.post-66997544456918616402011-03-04T00:45:00.006+01:002011-03-31T16:22:25.557+02:00Hot news<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiRncBn2BNu5Z09x_oLKsJP5RHa2V2EpBjCX0Vafw-2yTfXURBUBZmC8gIimaAkZA0ajCH1F8-c3pWAMyvgeGuT3L2IT9MvD7DGLkJ89iKrlb5ZNwtTAEWylBc-4PwPfJmlYha_UjWi3yD4/s1600/Nieuws.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiRncBn2BNu5Z09x_oLKsJP5RHa2V2EpBjCX0Vafw-2yTfXURBUBZmC8gIimaAkZA0ajCH1F8-c3pWAMyvgeGuT3L2IT9MvD7DGLkJ89iKrlb5ZNwtTAEWylBc-4PwPfJmlYha_UjWi3yD4/s400/Nieuws.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br />
This is my entry for the <a href="http://nailartexpress.wordpress.com/2011/02/13/colour-splash-nail-art-contest-preview/">nail art contest</a> from <a href="http://nailartexpress.wordpress.com/">Nail Art Express</a>. The contest had two themes: 'I've Got The Blues' and 'Feeling Hot Hot Hot'. Needless to say, I chose the second theme to match a nail art design with. I was free to interpret the theme the way I wanted and came up with this fun design with a flashy 'hot news' button and burning newspaper. Later it crossed my mind that they are awfully appropriate these days, since the news is dominated by the 'burning' Middle East...<br />
<br />
For the newspaper part, I used the technique I explained in my <a href="http://lindasnailart.blogspot.com/2011/02/newspaper-nails.html">previous post</a>. For the flames I put some yellow, orange and red polish on the tips and just did some 'swirling' in it with the pointy side of an orange stick while it was still wet. For my thumb regular nail polish was used and nail art pens for the outlining and the letters.<br />
<br />
Click <a href="http://nailartexpress.wordpress.com/2011/03/05/colour-splash-contest-entries/">here</a> to see the other entries! Public voting is now open for one week. Make sure you vote for both categories, or your vote won't be counted!<br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">This is so easy, but looks so cool! Here I'll explain how to make these, or better: how <i>I</i> made these, since there are several ways for making newspaper nails. This works best in my opinion.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">You need:</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">- rubbing alcohol or some kind of liquor with much alcohol, such as vodka</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">- a shallow dish or something similar to pour some alcohol onto</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">- a newspaper or anything else you want to 'print' on your nails (I assume magazines will also work)</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">- a base colour (not neccessary though)</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">- top coat to seal it afterwards (neccessary)</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">How to do it:</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">- surprisingly, you have to start with your base colour (but you can skip this if you want to)</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">- put some alcohol on the dish</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">- rip off a part of the newspaper big enough for one nail and dip it in the alcohol</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">- put the soaked piece of paper on your nail and press gently for about 30 seconds (make sure to hold it in place)</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">- remove it carefully</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">- apply top coat</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">In this case I did the above twice for each nail as you can see, giving it a more 'grungy' look (if you know what I mean, haha). By the way, who noticed the single rhinestone? Accidentally there was a huge blank spot on my friends pinky left, which I just couldn't leave empty.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I used this technique for <a href="http://nailartexpress.wordpress.com/2011/02/13/colour-splash-nail-art-contest-preview/">this</a> nail art contest I'm entering (you can still enter too!).</div>Lindahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02961742245037850175noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-884191958616157644.post-69728340484537276072011-02-26T21:43:00.002+01:002011-04-17T22:30:39.783+02:00Strawberries and cream<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKahCJbSKYeeG8PETtQ5G76u8Q8iCwCeM7eFvoClZJ2A3B3rVDZzGYopJm_Lk2S7zFdzSYs7ginOEIjOMSQoIzP8UtBaSl1-1dHSG_p5nV0bbykF-R0STOenkGvT_jGQO99WDvipOwYRI5/s1600/Aardbeien-met-slagroom.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKahCJbSKYeeG8PETtQ5G76u8Q8iCwCeM7eFvoClZJ2A3B3rVDZzGYopJm_Lk2S7zFdzSYs7ginOEIjOMSQoIzP8UtBaSl1-1dHSG_p5nV0bbykF-R0STOenkGvT_jGQO99WDvipOwYRI5/s400/Aardbeien-met-slagroom.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br />
A more wearable design with the fimo slices that were part of <a href="http://lindasnailart.blogspot.com/2011/02/i-received-package.html">the prize I won</a>. I used nail glue this time for the strawberries and one layer of top coat. I'm curious if it will last (even) better than <a href="http://lindasnailart.blogspot.com/2011/02/vitamin-overdose.html">these</a>, where I only added very much top coat. (However, these are my sisters nails and probably our ways of life (i.e. the things we do with our hands) cannot be compared ;)) For the cream I used a white polish which has become too thick for normal use, but it was perfect for this! And for the finishing touch, I added some tiny pearls/rhinestones I also got in my prize pack. Strawberries with whipped cream... Delicious!Lindahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02961742245037850175noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-884191958616157644.post-87404292708310819272011-02-21T08:12:00.004+01:002011-03-06T13:45:54.268+01:00Vitamin overdose<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgF6SPfFJRlKGhm7RQH6RA5-FDQfWvRcz2gSNdX1b0xoKl_tNaaWbUangWu8kt9sKNAMGspNhPNTeVMVk1C-jx1a0U40Ylfu8Yj-wis2PCqp02RK5KAwIx6qnssTDdH1baCVX3anCgqRDm7/s1600/Fruitsalade.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgF6SPfFJRlKGhm7RQH6RA5-FDQfWvRcz2gSNdX1b0xoKl_tNaaWbUangWu8kt9sKNAMGspNhPNTeVMVk1C-jx1a0U40Ylfu8Yj-wis2PCqp02RK5KAwIx6qnssTDdH1baCVX3anCgqRDm7/s400/Fruitsalade.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">So here's my try with the fimo fruit slices that were part of <a href="http://lindasnailart.blogspot.com/2011/02/i-received-package.html">my prize</a>! These are definitely the most over the top nails I ever made, I've never put so much stuff on my nails! Inspired by random nail art pictures I had saved on my computer.</div><br />
My nails are rounded and the fimo slices not that flexible, so I had to put loads and loads of top coat allover it to fill the 'edges'. I would like these pieces of art to last for more than one hour! Still I think it won't take too long before the first ones will fall of. Well, we'll see!<br />
<br />
<b>Update: I've worn this for 6 days and I only lost one! Thanks to the lots of top coat! Well, I won a prize with it! Not because of the number of votes, but Ying (the girl behind <a href="http://nailartexpress.wordpress.com/">Nail Art Express</a>) decided to give away an extra prize, for the most wearable and doable design! I love it! Look at the fimo slices! Those rhinestones! The crushed shells (in the little bag)! And the brushes, I have brushes! Thank you so much Ying! I can't wait to try everything. Right now I'm working on some nail art with the fimo fruits....<br />
<br />
By the way... Ying's holding a another contest at this moment with two themes! Bonjour! I have been in Brussels for the past two days! It was a studytrip, organised by the political science student association I'm a member of. As you might know, Brussels is called the capital of the European Union and we visited things like the Council of Europe, NATO and the Dutch Embassy. All of it was very interesting and I loved the city! I had never been in Brussels and I was pleasantly surprised by the loads of amazing buildings in the center, for instance take a look at <a href="http://www.google.com/images?um=1&hl=en&client=safari&rls=en&biw=1040&bih=703&tbs=isch%3A1&sa=1&q=grote+markt+brussels&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&oq=">this</a> (the Grand Place with the Town Hall)! Beau-ti-ful. Apart from that, the importance of the city fascinates me. It happens in Brussels!<br />
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEif5Q5xf-OK-g63BZ77sNjOI41EG0apHKB3rFGqtOZg0ALvDutEwKXmCUitsL2TQUpXoD1gmuYeF7Bkq9MKLIFoO562jLqCWlTC7KZvxR0N_KJpjh0JVX-U22189N-UR7mQVth69L4G85jS/s1600/Brussel.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEif5Q5xf-OK-g63BZ77sNjOI41EG0apHKB3rFGqtOZg0ALvDutEwKXmCUitsL2TQUpXoD1gmuYeF7Bkq9MKLIFoO562jLqCWlTC7KZvxR0N_KJpjh0JVX-U22189N-UR7mQVth69L4G85jS/s400/Brussel.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
I didn't have much time to take care of matching nails, but I managed to make the <a href="http://www.google.com/images?client=safari&rls=en&q=brussels+atomium&oe=UTF-8&um=1&ie=UTF-8&source=og&sa=N&hl=en&tab=wi&biw=1040&bih=703">Atomium</a> on my ring finger. The even more famous icon of Brussels, <a href="http://www.google.com/images?um=1&hl=en&client=safari&rls=en&biw=1040&bih=703&tbs=isch%3A1&sa=1&q=brussels+manneken+pis&aq=f&aqi=g1&aql=&oq=">Manneken Pis</a>, would have been a little too hard for me, haha. Perhaps next time, cause I'll be most definitely visiting Brussels again (if only because I failed to see this tiny statue!). Or, who knows, perhaps I'll be working there in the future...<br />
<br />
I matched my nails to a citytrip once before, when I went to Paris last year. A french manicure with little Eiffel Towers, could you think of anything more appropriate...?<br />

<br />
Just before I went to Brussels, I booked two citytrips for this summer: Hamburg and Vienna! Woohooo, exciting! :D So there are more citytrip nails to come!Lindahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02961742245037850175noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-884191958616157644.post-59595061159149405132011-02-13T15:54:00.001+01:002011-02-13T15:57:12.092+01:00Valentine's Day<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbDRXl-vsy3C33QaVbNL9ZZYpmGUOM305xusSUZa7B0f0_CfS_cCJHnEgUdV7jjrIs-QBu0FQCKQ-0ZIaS7r6E_dMKPovFW6ovsBEZUzxfSduyHW1diVBGa-bVx_-YcYmYLYCT11vvqzz6/s1600/Watermerk.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbDRXl-vsy3C33QaVbNL9ZZYpmGUOM305xusSUZa7B0f0_CfS_cCJHnEgUdV7jjrIs-QBu0FQCKQ-0ZIaS7r6E_dMKPovFW6ovsBEZUzxfSduyHW1diVBGa-bVx_-YcYmYLYCT11vvqzz6/s400/Watermerk.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br />
Fellow nail art blogs are being flooded with hearts and I too couldn't leave my blog without a single Valentine's day nail art. I have seen the most beautiful nails from other bloggers and in comparison with those, my try is rather simple. My idea was also to make it look a bit sloppy, so using a nail art pen I was done in ten minutes or so! My mother volunteered, but I think that except for the fact that it's purple, the design that came out doesn't suit her at all, haha. I'd rather make this for a little girl.<br />
<br />
If you need more ideas for Valentine's day nails, I'd suggest <a href="http://lindasnailart.blogspot.com/2011/01/roses-inspiration.html">these</a> or <a href="http://lindasnailart.blogspot.com/2010/12/roses.html">these</a> (roses)!Lindahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02961742245037850175noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-884191958616157644.post-59284111149762897222011-02-11T18:31:00.000+01:002011-03-31T16:21:47.310+02:00Dikkie Dik<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_rVuPXyJuD7ohfH6YZlGjb8LtzACjqLTPaAl5F5n4r0l-J3WUP6GbVPec4HCWCsg2On8eKzqSZn07sAzvaCN52u2erH0TyWov3UZ7AlV0KjNMWhahUsx-Znh1bk7K8qg_uM_1bKRr8OWb/s1600/Dikkie-Dik.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_rVuPXyJuD7ohfH6YZlGjb8LtzACjqLTPaAl5F5n4r0l-J3WUP6GbVPec4HCWCsg2On8eKzqSZn07sAzvaCN52u2erH0TyWov3UZ7AlV0KjNMWhahUsx-Znh1bk7K8qg_uM_1bKRr8OWb/s400/Dikkie-Dik.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br />
As promised, another manicure with <a href="http://lindasnailart.blogspot.com/2011/02/paws-up.html">these</a> paws, on my cousins nails this time. I sponged some glitter polish on the tips and I made the cat using nothing but the polish brush and a dotting tool. (Which means if you only have a dotting tool, you can make this!) I still don't have good pencils, I really need to get some... Oh, the title <a href="http://www.google.com/images?client=safari&rls=en&q=dikkie+dik&oe=UTF-8&um=1&ie=UTF-8&source=og&sa=N&hl=en&tab=wi&biw=1004&bih=703">Dikkie Dik</a> is referring to a cat who is the main character of a series of Dutch children's books and also appeared on the Dutch Sesame Street! Memories... :)Lindahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02961742245037850175noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-884191958616157644.post-72508370288954560822011-02-08T00:46:00.003+01:002011-04-17T22:30:39.784+02:00Paws up<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiMq9P9TaNB6kLJRMttETmVEVD_vbILBBydFznMpcjTefDkPhW-wobIFkfK22J_Ff5AqBF5-Agvb7Ql096E0OfiosXyjirBeu9EI2_p8O0uUCTZwFAXM7X0-oBam9_jbcXB8LRCizHYQmR_/s1600/Pootjes.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiMq9P9TaNB6kLJRMttETmVEVD_vbILBBydFznMpcjTefDkPhW-wobIFkfK22J_Ff5AqBF5-Agvb7Ql096E0OfiosXyjirBeu9EI2_p8O0uUCTZwFAXM7X0-oBam9_jbcXB8LRCizHYQmR_/s400/Pootjes.jpg" width="300" /></a></div><br />
I made this a while ago on the nails of this girl I used to babysit. It's not too hard to make, all you need is a dotting tool! And some time and patience... ;) Later this week another manicure with these cute paws!Lindahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02961742245037850175noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-884191958616157644.post-70134328693583438602011-01-31T23:38:00.004+01:002011-03-31T16:21:47.311+02:00Engelse dropLately I've been busy doing other things than my nails (I did pass all of my exams!), so here's another old picture. I made this quite a while ago on the nails of my cousin. It's <a href="http://www.google.com/images?hl=en&sugexp=ldymls&xhr=t&q=engelse+drop&cp=9&qe=ZW5nZWxzZSBk&qesig=IJu04uqgUAWAFyxxdLGd7g&pkc=AFgZ2tk2bvxGVCuQCFvCNlT3YC0mHUumYp6pKw14WcksvpDMws2DPvsCHDgvRDQnIANxHNGWXxiMdpXCMuwbx-6VPZUZaJ73JQ&um=1&ie=UTF-8&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&biw=1073&bih=703">Engelse drop</a>, yummy! I'm not sure if it's something typical Dutch or not... Have you ever eaten Engelse drop?<br />
